James Savage

Associate Teacher

James Savage (he/him) is an Assistant Professor of Theatre at Ohio Northern University, where he teaches all levels of acting, voice, and movement within the performance curriculum. He has worked as an actor, director, and educator at various locations, regionally and primarily in NYC.

He was first introduced to the Michael Chekhov Technique as a part of the second class with GLMCC where he earned his teaching certification in 2014. This experience allowed him to fully appreciate the pure joy and creativity of the technique for the first time.

As a practitioner of both the Michael Chekhov and Sanford Meisner techniques, James is part of a small group of educators that contributed to a book all about the blending of these two techniques titled Michael Chekhov and Sanford Meisner: Collisions and Convergence in Actor Training edited by Anjalee Deshpande Hutchinson and published by Routledge.
