Lionel is a Founding Artistic Director of the Great Lakes Michael Chekhov Consortium and Associate Professor of Theatre at the University of Windsor (Canada), where he is Artistic Director of the Inspired Acting Lab. He served as Director of the School of Dramatic Art for ten years, Associate Dean, Academic for three, and Assistant Vice-President, Student Recruitment for four.
He is a professional actor and director and Artistic Director of Northern Bruce Theatre, for which has directed four plays since 2019, most recently Mary’s Wedding by Stephen Massicotte. He appears as Henry in the upcoming web series, (UP)Staged with Post Productions.
Lionel first heard of Michael Chekhov at graduate school and trained intensively with the Michael Chekhov Association (MICHA) for twenty-three years. In 2003 he earned his Teacher Certification from MICHA. His teachers include Joanna Merlin, Mala Powers, Lenard Petit, Ted Pugh, Fern Sloan, and Sarah Kane.
