Carolina Morones
Associate Teacher
Carolina Morones is a performer, educator, movement director and community organizer focused on telling stories that empower through poetry and movement. A proud graduate of Santa Clara University (BA), Kent State University (MFA) and the Great Lakes Michael Chekhov Consortium (Teaching Certification).
Most recently she played the role of Marina in Pericles: Prince of Tyre, SF Shakespeare Festival. In 2020 she was honored to be the Choreographer and Cultural Consultant for Octavio Solis’ Retablos: Life on the Border with Word For Word at ZSpace (San Francisco, CA). Carolina currently teaches for The American Conservatory Theatre (Studio-ACT) and is the Education & Engagement Consultant for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. She is a proud Cooperative member of the newly formed Cultural Cooperative Development Center: OAXXANDA in East Oakland. OAXXANDA focuses on cultivating a pathway for BIPOC art makers toward intergenerational legacy building, healing and sustainability in the face of gentrification.
Carolina was nominated as a Cultural Space Ambassador in the Community Arts Stabilization Trust’s Dreaming Spaces Oakland 2020-21 cohort. She is very excited to be joining GLMCC as an Associate Teacher - truly a dream come true!
